Our Story
Rooted in faith & reaching the community
West Hills Community Church is a multi-campus, Bible-teaching, non-denominational Christian church with locations in Morgan Hill and San Jose, California. With a passion for gospel-centered teaching, authentic relationships, and mission-driven service, our church is rooted in Scripture and committed to living out the love of Jesus in both local neighborhoods and across the globe.
Our story began in Morgan Hill, CA, where a faithful group of believers came together in the years following World War II to form a church rooted in community and Christ. After merging with another congregation in the 1950s, the church eventually became known as Hillside Church of Morgan Hill, a Bible-believing, non-denominational church focused on discipleship and expository preaching.
In 1992, the church embraced a broader vision for gospel outreach and adopted the name West Hills Community Church, inspired by its setting in the western hills and its calling to reach every person in the South Valley with the truth of God's Word.

Located on a hillside with spectacular views that remind us daily of God's creative majesty, our Morgan Hill location offers a peaceful setting for worship and community.
This campus offers:
Biblical preaching grounded in the authority of Scripture
Vibrant children’s ministry and youth programs
A thriving Spanish-speaking ministry (Ministerio Hispano)
Local outreach partnerships with schools, civic leaders, and nonprofits
Active involvement in global missions and short-term trips
From food distribution and chaplaincy to serving the underserved, our Morgan Hill campus continues to invest deeply in the community — offering hope, truth, and compassion in the name of Jesus.
San Jose Campus: Reaching the Heart of Silicon Valley
In 2010, West Hills launched a new campus in San Jose, led by a small team from Morgan Hill who felt called to plant a gospel-centered, city-focused church. What began as public worship gatherings in local parks quickly grew into a thriving community that now meets in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose.
The San Jose campus has developed its own identity — reflecting the urban diversity and fast-paced culture of the city. Located in the charming Willow Glen area near downtown San Jose, this campus brings our community into the heart of Silicon Valley while maintaining the warmth and accessibility that defines West Hills.
This campus offers:
Weekly Bible preaching and worship services
Discipleship pathways and small group Bible studies
A dedicated Disability Outreach ministry serving individuals and families
Outreach partnerships with local nonprofits and schools
Support for church planting and international missions
If you’re searching for a Christian church in San Jose that is both theologically grounded and actively engaged in the community, you’ll find a home here.
Two Campuses, One Gospel Mission
West Hills is one church with two autonomous campuses — united in core doctrine and vision, but locally led and uniquely expressed. Each campus has its own pastoral team, ministries, teaching series, and cultural voice. While we’re connected through shared values and leadership, we’re not a franchise or one-size-fits-all model.
Morgan Hill embraces the rhythms of South Valley life — close-knit, community-driven, and globally aware.
San Jose thrives on diversity, outreach, and equipping leaders for impact in Silicon Valley and beyond.
Both are fully committed to the Great Commission and to building communities of believers who worship God, love others, and live on mission.
Local Outreach & Global Missions
Whether it’s building homes for families in Tijuana, Mexico, supporting missionaries in Zambia or Cambodia, or volunteering in our own neighborhoods, West Hills has always been a missions-minded church. We believe every Christian is called to live on mission — and we provide clear ways for individuals and families to get involved both locally and globally.
We support:
Short-term mission trips
Church planting
Community outreach and partnerships
Missionaries serving across continents
Where We Are Today
We are praying for 1,000 conversions and challenging each member to pray daily for 10 individuals. The focus is on disciple-making, spiritual formation, and community multiplication.
Whether you’re looking for a place to grow spiritually or a community for your family, West Hills offers two distinct campuses where you can belong, grow, and serve.
